			<description>I have had a few people ask me where they can get a good uniform from. And what is a good uniform?



Well the good new is you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to get a usable uniform.



For about &#36;50 you can get a Karate style Gi, these are normally thin and made of canvas, light weight and easy to move in. However as a down side they are not as resilient to throws and hard ware. Great for beginners.

I was looking at making my own Bokken (i have a fair amount of wood working experiance) and have the relevent requirments and messurments for this, the only problem i am having is finding a good wood to make it out of!



Japanese White Oak is avalible but its not the good stuff, its just plantation and tends to be easly dented/cracked/splintered.



I was thinking (as we are in WA) Jarrah or posable gettting some more exotic stuff imported like Ebony or Ipe or posably even  ...</description>
